Natural stone, quarried from around the world, comes in many beautiful styles, varying in color, pattern, finish, and use.

Color
Granite, Marble and Onyx stones are available in a broad range of colors including elegant black, versatile neutrals, rich greens, stunning gold, vibrant blues and countless mutil-hued varieties.    The color selections available in natural stone are vast!

Patterns
Natural Stone patterns range from close-featured pebble size patterns to broad, spectacular veins – and everything in between! Close-featured patterns create a consistent, uniform look while large-vein patterns create dynamic effects.

Finish
Natural Stones can be polished to a highly reflective luster that brings the rich color and textures of the stone to vibrant life.   Polished finishes are most often used on stone walls, furniture and countertops. Stone can also be honed smooth with a slight reflection.  This finish is highly desirable for stairways, flooring and other high traffic areas.

Flaming is a finishing technique applied to give the surface of the stone a rough-textured surface.

Use
The hardness of the stone is a significant factor in the selection of natural stone for your application.

Marble is found in the mountainous regions of Canada, Italy, Germany, Spain and other countries worldwide and is a fairly soft stone.   Marble is ideal for use in foyers, bathrooms, floors and fireplace hearths.  Because marble is sensitive to discoloration when exposed to citric acids, coffee, tea, alcohol and wine, we do not recommend it for kitchen countertop applications.

Granite is the preferred choice for kitchen countertop applications along with high-traffic flooring applications.  Unlike synthetic surfaces that may melt under hot cookware, granite resists heat.   It is also one of the most bacteria-resistant kitchen surfaces and is not affected by citric acid, coffee, tea, alcohol or wine.  Granite is also difficult to scratch, and with proper cleaning and sealing, will not stain in normal kitchen use.

Travertine and Limestone have been popular natural stones for interior and exterior wall cladding, paving and statuary.   Slate can be used for kitchen countertops, fireplace facings, table tops, roofing and paving stones.   Sandstone if frequently used for fireplace facings, chimneys, garden walls, patio benches and near the pool.

Benefits of Natural Stone

Luxury that Lasts
Natural Stone has been the building material of choice for thousands of years.   Walk the streets of ancient civilizations or the buildings throughout Europe and see the enduring value and beauty of natural stone that no man-made materials can equal.

Vast Selection – Each Stone is Unique!
Natural Stones are quarried throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas in large blocks weighing up to 35 tons each.   As this stone was formed millions of years ago, each block of material is unique and special, something the manufactured products cannot offer.

Easy Care
With proper stone selection, your stone products are both long-lasting and easy to care for.   Granite is one of the hardest substances and can only be cut using diamond tooling.   In your kitchen you can enjoy its’ durability – cut on it, place hot pans on its surface – leaving you to enjoy the beauty of the stone.   Clean and Re-seal once over year or two and your countertop will remain like new for years to come!

Exceptional Value
Given its natural look of true luxury, investing in stone can be a wise investment in your home or office.  Natural Stone flooring, countertops and decorative features will increase the value of your property.   You may be surprised that Natural Stone can be less expensive than some of the man-made products currently on the market!
